La familia Weber

Meet Jaime, Dominique and Jeremy Weber... they had Emilie and I over for dinner and a movie ! It's so nice to be able to relax and enjoy good company!

In case you are wondering, Jaime is holding up our smotthies...raspberries, orange juice and mmmm....I can't remember-- but even though it looks creepy, it was GOOD!

Charlotte!

This little girl is my challenge in my service with the children at Church...but she is soooo CUTE !!! I really have a hard time being firm with her...because she makes me laugh so much!

I hope they call me on a mission!

We got a guided tour of the Montréal, Québec Mission home today!
The children were oooing adn aaahhhing while we visited the house the mission president, Elder Petion, and his family live in!
The "office" elders gave us some training on what it means to be a missionary, how missionaries live...and gave us some training on how we can be better missionaries in our every day life!

The kids loved it, and I think our mission president's wife was thrilled to meet us all! I actually knew the Petion while I lived in France...so it's SUPER nice to have them here for their time of service!

wondering IF I will ever go on a mission? What a question!!! I can't wait!

So little time & such GREAT friends!

Returning to school after working is, truly, really hard...there is not only the stress of exams, classes, projects...but also of being so OLD in comparison to the rest of the people you sit in class with!
At the beggining of the school year, I sheepishly joined the MRSA...I thought it stood for Multi-Resistant Staph Aureus...but in the McGill setting, it stands for something much nicer: the Mature Re-entry Student Association. I usually call it the "old folk's club" but they are not nearly as old or even as serious and intimidating as the name makes them to be!
This is Adam...one of the nicest guys you will ever meet...and one of the greatest cooks, too!!! He had Emilie and I over tonight...THANKS for helping us have a social life, Adam! What a great time we had eating FANTASTIC food and being normal people again, without the stress of the university world we are in now!
It is reassuring to know others have the same fears I have about returning to school at this point in my life!
And what a great blessing to meet people who encourage you by their example to have a more balanced life and not give up on developping your talents...gotta get to my guitar soon!

et voici le roi et la reine... et voici la reine et le roi!

Thank you Rebecca and Yohann for hosting "la fête des rois" this year!!! This is a fun tradition from France that I hope to carry over into my family... Supposedly, we celebrate the arrival of the wise-men ("rois-mages") in Bethlehem...traditionally the 1st Sunday after New Year's.
Of course, this celebration now has little to do with the Savior... we have a traditional "frangipane" in which a "fève" (or dry bean- nowadays it's a ceramic figurine) is hidden. The person who finds the "fève" gets to pick a queen or king to be his... and is the king/queen of the year! There is a golden paper crown associated to this prestigious tittle...and you can imagine how we all covet it!
So, to be sure the cake distribution is fair...one person sits under the table and assigns pieces of cakes as they are being cut...seemed fair as a child but now...I really wonder...
Guillaume is the king this year- and he picled ME to be his queen!

the weekly ritual...

Today, we had our friend Fausta Lucas over to learn how to make bread! It was fun to share this now weekly ritual with her!
I am so blessed to have Emilie living with me now...apart from her being my sister ( and it's so comforting to have someone who knows everything about you around!), she has taken on some "mothering" roles in our household : we have fresh bread baked every week...mmmmmmmmmmm....

call us if you want to schedule time to have some with us!

The best part of the whole ritual is getting to eat fresh bread...or if we are feeling trim and slim, we will fry bread dough and dip it into icing sugar.....SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!

I can't say it enough: THANK YOU EMILIE!!!!

my calling...in primary

It is my privilege and blessing to serve in my Church as a rpimary leader. I supervise children 18 months to 12 years old... I think there are about 25-30 kids every week .
With this responsability comes many blessings...including being able to act like a kid with the kids a lot of the time! I also have the honour of having a weekly get-together with 2 AMAZING women: Marie-Line Rioux and Sara-Patricia Razafinimanana. They always amaze me by their enthusiasm and willingness to serve children that aren't even theirs...
So coming back to Montréal is hard-- but I am happy they have let me into their "click"!

home again!

The drive home was long, and it truly was hard to get back to reality...but my roomates are hilarious! Living with them is so much fun, being back in Montréal is totally worth it-- just to live with them! To the left you will see Sylvie Pinet, and on the right is Emilie Sacuto (my sister!)...They were waiting up for me, and yes, they got to hear ALL about my trip to NYC and how much I like the boy I went down to visit...It's so nice to have girlfriends to talk about this kind of stuff with!

♪♪ I love to see the Temple♪...

...Someday I wil go there♪...
OF all the beautiful buildings and monuments, the Manhattan Temple was not the most visited by the crowds but definitely MY FAVORITE!!!
What a great Sunday night outing!

(The stars were in the Lincoln building...pretty and with changing colors...they were nice-- but nothing compared to the badly lit temple!)

Happy New Year 2006!

WEll? What do you do when you are in NEW YORK CITY for the New Year??? Play Tourist!!! after taking some time to bond with Debbie ( Dave's mom), I got to tour all the famous monuments and sites...notice how we even got to take a picture with Joseph Smith? The Statue of Liberty?? Yeah, I saw her...but no good pictures as it was already dark--- next time we get together, she and I will pause for you!
We ended up ON Time Square for the countdown...and didn't even have to wait a whole day for the thrill like others did!!!
I really did enjoy just extending my holiday with ...family-- that's really what it felt like : watching old musicals after getting home and just letting go! Thanks Debbie and Kent for the holiday!
